Dedicated to Personalized Care
Dr. Sarah Curtis is a Doctor of Audiology with special expertise in tinnitus care, auditory processing disorders, and hearing services for musicians. She also has advanced training in pediatric audiology and complex hearing cases that require a customized, thoughtful approach. Her clinical work is deeply rooted in evidence-based care and a belief that hearing treatment should be as personal as the people it serves.
Born and raised in Lake County and a graduate of Mentor High School, Dr. Curtis brings both local insight and broad clinical experience to her practice. She earned her undergraduate degree in psychology at Youngstown State University, followed by a year of AmeriCorps service. She completed her Doctorate in Audiology at the University of Tennessee, training in hospitals, schools, and specialty environments including the Perkins School for the Blind. Her early work included co-authoring a textbook chapter on hearing loss in children with CHARGE syndrome—a reflection of her long-standing commitment to medically nuanced care.
Dr. Curtis founded Sounds of Life Hearing Center in 2018 to create something rare: a practice where patients feel genuinely heard, audiologists can thrive, and future professionals are guided with care and integrity. Today, Sounds of Life is known not just for its hearing aid services, but for full-scope audiology that includes counseling, education, and long-term support.
As Executive Director, Dr. Curtis leads a collaborative team culture focused on continuous growth. She actively supports professional development through conference attendance, continuing education, and humanitarian audiology efforts both locally and abroad. Her leadership style is grounded in empathy, strategic planning, and the belief that excellent care starts with empowered clinicians.
