Heather C.

"I was very impressed by the knowledge of Dr. Donovan. Over the last 6 months I have had quite a few disappointing hearing exams done at various locations that left me with more questions. This was the first exam that was extremely in-depth. The capability of their equipment tests beyond the regular restrictions of other locations (higher frequencies above 8khz, for example). She also took the time to answer all my questions patiently, I didn't feel rushed at all. I wish sounds of hearing would've been my starting point when trying to find answers about the change in my hearing. On my way out, I also noticed she took in another patient that was a walk-in due to an emergency situation, despite the fact they were closing. You can tell the staff here genuinely cares and are very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend them."

Floyd F.

"After 18 months of mediocre service from another Audiology Firm and considerable research on area Audiologists, I decided to see Sound of Life. I was initially impressed with the extra tests and detailed exam provided by Dr. Ekstrom. After examining various options, I chose to go with new hearing aids and custom molds. Unlike my past experience, Dr. Ekstrom has patiently and professionally worked through the fitting and adjustment period and has not been satisfied until the new hearing aids and mold were just right. Just an outstanding experience. Likewise, all of the office personnel and Audiologists that I have worked with have been very knowledgeable and professional. I would absolutely recommend Sounds of Life."

Frequently Asked Questions

You might need a hearing test if you frequently ask people to repeat themselves, have trouble hearing in noisy environments, or if others mention that you keep the TV volume too high. It's recommended to get your hearing checked annually, just like your eyes and teeth.

There are several types including completely-in-canal (CIC), in-the-ear (ITE), behind-the-ear (BTE), and receiver-in-canal (RIC). Each type has unique benefits and is suited for different levels of hearing loss and lifestyle needs.

Most hearing aids last between 3-7 years, depending on the model, care, and maintenance. Regular cleaning and check-ups can help extend their lifespan.

Coverage varies by insurance provider and plan. Many insurance plans offer some coverage for hearing aids. We can help verify your benefits and discuss financing options.
